Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Athens-University Area

It’s a college town so bring your earplugs, cause the outside road noise is near unbearable…and I stayed on a Monday night! Other than the noise, this hotel is as clean as they come. From the parking lot, to the entry way and lobby area, elevators, floor halls and room/bathroom…all clean! Hospitality is fantastic and friendly! The fitness center is top notch with superbly clean equipment. The pool is also very clean and well stocked with towels. Breakfast is great with an assortment of proteins, grains and dairy. Coffee is hot and fresh! My breakfast area photos were taken at night when there was no people :)

Staff were incredibly kind and very patient. I was not able to sleep very well. I have EDS and MCAS, and for some reason I could not find a room that did not have a significant amount of vibration (which is a trigger for me). I stay at hotels a lot, and normally I just have to make sure I’m not near wherever the HVAC units are. In this case they were on the roof. But it didn’t seem to matter where I was. I appreciated the creativity and the patients. We didn’t end up finding a great solution, so I am in a lot of pain, but I know it’s not because people didn’t try. Normally, the hotels that I’ve stayed at you can turn the AC off fully and there’s no more vibration in the room. Here, the air compressor just kept going in each room. I’m not sure why that is, and I’m sure for most people. It’s not a big deal. For me, it meant a lot of pain. I just can’t think whoever was working enough for being very patient. Very kind.

Absolutely incredible stay! This place was spotless, everything was very clean and in full working order. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful! The bed was super comfy and we got a great night’s sleep after traveling all day. Breakfast was great and everything was well stocked. Check in and out process was super easy and very convenient. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

This was a great place to relax. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I was attending an event at the Classic Center and it was fairly close. I wasn't a fan of breakfast, but it was your typical free hotel offerings. I would stay here again!

I appreciated the overall cleanliness and hospitality at this hotel. My room was well laid out when I arrived and remained comfortable throughout my stay. Parking was complimentary as well as breakfast although I must admit that meal options were limited. There also was an onsite fitness center with a good variety of equipment. I certainly would stay here again while visiting the area.

Nice hotel and convenient to where we needed to go during our trip to Athens, GA. The rooms were nice,and fresh. Everything smelled good from the sheets to the towels. The bathroom was nice and spacious. The breakfast was ok. It was the exact same the two days we were there except we had sausage patties one day and bacon another. The hotel seemed to have a lot of parking but it would fill up fast during the early evening which made us worry we would not find any.

Great location and clean facilities! The lobby and room were tidy, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, there are a few areas for improvement. I’ve come to expect fresh coffee and afternoon snacks at Marriott properties, which weren’t available. The room lacked certain toiletries like body lotion, and while the number of towels was fine for one person, you'd need to request more if traveling with someone. Overall, a pleasant stay, but a few small changes could enhance the experience.

Went there for a couples days and never saw a room attendant to exchange towels or remove trash. Front desk employee was nice and check in was a breeze. It is $20 a night for incidental coverage. Hotel has basic stuff in case you forgot a toothbrush (I did) and has guest laundry as well. Plenty of parking and if you ride a motorcycle, they allowed us to park under the awning. Also has a parking garage as well.
